Today Boeing made an announcement that should bring a smile to your face. On your next flight, please enjoy the inability to connect to the Internet!

Now you don’t have to look forward to the day when you will no longer have to pass the long hours in your coach seat by watching entertaining podcasts or shopping for whatever it is Amazon sells these days. Now you can relax comfortably in the knowledge that you will always have to just sit there and stare at the back of the seat in front of you.

Not since Delta gave up on Song and its copycat seatback TVs has the airline industry taken such a gigantic stride towards the way things were 20 years ago, and the way they should be, frankly.

Life was better then, without terrorism and without fear, and it’s precisely these bold steps backwards like Boeing is willing to take that give us hope for a brighter yesterday.
